Buying safely
If something goes wrong
Card and crypto work differently, so the safety net is different. Here is what is covered, what is not, and what to do. FuzzSwap is not an escrow service: it never holds your money.
Paid by card
Card and bank orders are processed by Stripe and charged on the seller's own Stripe account.
What is protected
- If the seller has not marked your paid order shipped within 30 days, you are refunded in full automatically. You do not need to ask.
- If you pay twice for the same item, the later payment is refunded in full.
- Your card or bank details go only into Stripe's secure forms. FuzzSwap never sees them.
- You can still dispute a charge with your bank (a chargeback). It is handled between your bank, Stripe and the seller.
What is not protected
- An order the seller marked shipped is not refunded automatically, even if it is late.
- Gear that arrives different from the listing, damaged or unwanted follows the seller's own returns and refunds policy. Some sellers say “No returns”.
- FuzzSwap does not guarantee the item or the seller. Check the seller's rating and policy before you pay.
What to do
- Message the seller first. Most problems are settled this way. Keep it in writing.
- Open a dispute from the order in your account. It goes to the seller with their own policy quoted. Dispute an order
- Not shipped? After 30 days the refund happens by itself.
- Looks like fraud? Report the listing, and contact your bank about the charge.
Paid with crypto
Crypto goes straight from your wallet to the seller's wallet. It is final the moment it is sent.
What is protected
- FuzzSwap never holds your crypto and never has your keys, so it cannot lose or freeze your money.
- Crypto orders are capped at $250, so a mistake stays small.
- Ratings come only from completed orders and are permanent, so a seller's record is real.
- FuzzSwap can suspend accounts and hide listings for fraud, abuse or Terms violations.
What is not protected
- FuzzSwap cannot reverse, refund or recover a crypto payment. There is no chargeback.
- The 30-day not-shipped refund is for card orders only. It does not apply to crypto.
- A refund happens only if the seller agrees to send one back.
What to do
- Before you pay, check the seller's rating and returns policy. If unsure, pay by card instead.
- Message the seller if something is wrong, and keep the transaction ID.
- Open a dispute from the order. It opens a thread with the seller and quotes their policy. Dispute an order
- Looks like fraud? Report the listing so FuzzSwap can act on the account.
